Interactions
This site should work for everyone who visits it, however they get around the web: mouse, keyboard, touch, voice or screen reader, with motion or without. It aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
-
Permanent One arm, always.
-
Temporary One arm, for six weeks.
-
Situational One arm, until the baby sleeps.
What’s built in
- Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to content” link at the top of each page.
- The moving background and the changing line in the header can be stopped with the pause button in the corner, and they pause on their own when you scroll away or switch tabs. The same button stops the campfire further down the page.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, nothing animates: the page appears settled, and cards and panels switch without effects.
- Nothing flashes.
- Body text has a contrast ratio of at least 11:1 against the background, and button text at least 4.5:1.
- Screen readers hear the full headline as one sentence, and the project cards and “Where we start” work as buttons and tabs.
- Forms have visible labels, say what went wrong in words, and move you to the first field that needs fixing.
Known gaps
Some case study pages are still being written. If you find anything else that gets in your way, it’s a bug, and I’d like to know.
